What Causes Tightness In Chest And Cough?

I have had a slight cold for a few days (productive cough and runny nose, no fever) and now my chest feels tight and the cough is producing thick bad tasting phlem. Is this something that o.k. to wait out with cold medicine or should I go in to a clinic, (still no fever)?

thanks for your question
i completely understand your query
in my opinion you are suffering from upper resp tract infection , and now its progressing.
before it gets converted to a bacterial lower resp tract infection you should visit a pulmonologist who can get a chest xray and a sputum culture done .

in my patients i prefer giving a course of broad spectrum antibiotics along with decongestants

thanks
