What Causes Tightness In The Chest And Nausea After Taking Cymbalta?

I have been prescribed Cymbalta to treat the neuropathy in my feet and hands caused by chemotherapy. I have been experiencing the following symptoms since my dose was doubled to 60 mg per day:
- tightness in the chest
- teary, red, itchy eyes
- nausea
- tiredness
- muscle spasms
- cough
- extremely runny nose
- trouble sleeping
What would you advise regarding continuing or discontinuing taking this drug?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Cymbalta is Duloxetine and the drug is a SNRI drug. You are 60 years old and on chemotherapy and your doses have been doubled abruptly and this is the probable reason that you have developed the symptoms like tightness in chest, tiredness, teary eyes, muscle spasms, cough etc. If the symptoms are intolerable then in my opinion report to your doctor as soon as you can. Try to take the doses as per your old prescription till you get appointment with doctor.

THANKS, Hope this helps you. Take care
