Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

Burning sensations are usually related to abnormal nerve function. Herpes can cause tingling and other sensations but this tends to occur in the affected area only. The abnormal function of the nerve is called neuropathy. Diabetes is a cause of neuropathy as well. She may need to consider seeing a neurologist for assessment. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the query. Hope this clarifies your concerns.

Take care
