What Causes Tingling Painful Sensation In The Back?

Hi, I've been experiencing a tingling on my back. It feels like 100 needles are poking me at once and only lasts a few seconds. I haven't been able to identify a trigger or anything that I feel may induce this sensation. It's extremely painful and I'm not sure what to do about it.
