What Causes Tingling Sensation In Head After Having Nexium?

Good evening- I am a 45 year old woman in perfect health, except for that I just developed a Hiatal Hernia. My PCP recommended that I take 40 mg of Nexium for 14 days. Keep in mind that I never take any meds except for the occasional multi vitamins. With this said, I am feeling tingling in the top of my skull the entire day and it is causing me to panic. I am wondering if you happen to know if Nexium could cause that. I did not find any warnings on Nexium on the internet that seemed like my symptom. It said numbness... but does that mean tingling? Please let me know your thoughts. Georgette

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I do not see any information in the medical literature on this type of reaction from nexium. I can cause headache, dizziness and itching but not the tingling you describe. I suggest that you just stop the drug as it could be early sign of an allergic reaction. Also call your doctor's office and let them know what is going on.
