What Causes Tinnitus And Pressure Behind The Eyes After A Sinus Surgery?

I recently about 3 weeks ago underwent sinus surgery to clear the sinus cavities. The surgeon removed some polyps and at the follow up everything looked good. Since then I am noticing the same symptoms that I had before the surgery such as ringing and mild ear pain. Pressure behind my eyes and on the temples of my forehead. These symptoms come and go through out the day. How long should the recovery take and could this be something other than sinus problems?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Nasal congestion from a sinus infection can create abnormal pressure in the middle ear, impacting normal hearing and causing tinnitus symptoms.

Your symptoms seem to be related to sinus problems so when you will recover from this problem the tinnitus will go.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
