My 1st husband ,whom I divorced in 1980 is dying,Alzheimers I guess. The negative issues leading up to the divorce are gone. But I'm taking clonazepam and am feeling tired all the time. I don't think I'm grieving , but maybe the medicine is covering up any grief I may have. We weren't close after the divorce but since he got sick, I see him in the home where he is now. I don't think I should be so tired all the time. I see a doctor when needed.
Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine drug and the drug can cause cognitive impairment when used regularly for long periods of time. The cognitive impairment along with drowsiness caused by clonazepam manifest as tiredness and fatigue. You have family issues also which can be resulting in depressive symptoms. So repetitive clonazepam intake coupled with negative issues might be leading to mild depression which is presenting as tiredness. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and treatment. In such symptoms medicines like SSRIs as Fluoxetine, Escitalopram can help in relieving the symptoms. These medicines will also improve the day time drowsiness and will result in alertness. Visit a psychiatrist for prescription of drug.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
