What Causes Tremors And Uncoordinated Movement In An Elderly Person?
Hi. First of all we are not drugies. We have talked to our Dr. about her shaking and loss of coordination and all we were told was "Don't get up fast". We spent most of last Tuesday in ER about her lower left back pain that has been going on for five pulse weeks About thirty minutes ago she came out to the front room and said she felt some better and turned to go back to bed and started shaking and loosing coordination and fell before I could get to her. She wasn't hurt but it was all I could do to get her into bed. I am 75 she is 76.
While one reason for shakiness may be postural drop as you were advised not to get up fast, however this is not that straight forward and we need a detailed neurological examination to rule our brain disorders like stroke or Parkinson syndromes.
So, I personally understand that if this all occurred suddenly she should be taken to the ER as it may be a stroke. If these has been for more times, then your should give her care not to fall, she should be seen by a neurologist sooner for proper assessment and management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
