What Causes Unconsciousness Despite A Normal EKG Report?

I has problem each time when l go to the Mass in the Church , it seems that I pass out just about 5-10minuteswhen the Mass started with my eyes closed and I could not open mouth or talk until the end of the Mass and after . I woke up by herself as normal, I can hear people talk but could not open eyes or mouth at all. I went to MD , he put on machine to monitor my heart for 48 hrs but the EKG reading was normal with all her activities. Also CT scan of the brain showed normal too. I am a Catholic and love to go to the mass and receive Communion . Because of this happening to me like this few month already . Beside what is happening to me each time I attend to the Mass, I am in good health body and mind. Please advise me so I could continue to go to the Church/ Mass an receive Communion.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hello,

Multiple episodes, where you fell and felt you could not move, always at Mass. I think you have Agoraphobia/Enochlophobia. This can present like this. I would seriously suggest meeting a behavioral therapist.

The other possibility I can think of is multiple episodes of seizures. There might be some trigger that cannot be identified by me on this forum- like a specific type of bells or some blinking lights that might be triggering the episodes.

And no, the seizures need not always have jerking of body parts. There is something called as an Atonic seizure. I would therefore also suggest meeting a neurologist to test an EEG. CT brain can be normal in such cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saumya Mittal
