Hello!

Your wife symptoms could be related to a sleep disorder (sleep apnea, narcolepsy or other types of hypersomnia).
A metabolic disorder (thyroid dysfunction, adrenal gland dysfunction) can not be excluded either.
For this reason, I would recommend consulting with her GP for a physical exam and some tests :
-a polysomnography for sleep disorders
- a chest X ray study and pulmonary function tests
- thyroid hormone levels
- kidney and liver function tests
- blood electrolytes
- fasting glucose
- a urine analysis for infection.
You should discuss with her doctor on the above tests.
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
