What Causes Upper Abdominal Cramps Along With Nausea?

I have a recurring event. often a year apart. i suddenly get extreme cramping across entire upper stomach, and extreme nausea with urge to vomit but only have dry heaves (3 or 4) and brain feels like will explode not head ache type pain. sometimes I pass out. the whole event only last 5 or so minutes

Many different conditions can cause abdominal pain. The key is to know when you need to get immediate medical care. Sometimes you may only need to call a doctor if your symptoms continue.

Less serious causes of abdominal pain include:

Constipation
Irritable bowel syndrome
Food allergies or intolerance (such as lactose intolerance)
Food poisoning
Stomach flu
