What Causes Urge For Urination And Less Urine Volume?

i'm 46 yrs old, 5'7", 170#. i am suffering what i think is a side effect of medication: i feel an urgent need to urinate (as in trotting to the bathroom, struggling to hold my bladder). but once i reach the toilet, it drips out. (my bladder is full, just nothing comes out).
i believe it is a side effect of adderall and/or cymbalta.
what can i do to alleviate this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are many causes of urinary retention. The medicine you use may be responsible, but it is unlikely, if you have used the medicine for many years without problems. If you have recently started, you could try to dose down on Cymbalta together with your GP or psychiatrist. If you are a male, you should have your prostate examined.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my clinical experience, this indicates side effect of current drug intake only.

It is recommended to stop consumption of both molecules and consult your doctor for its replacement and/or necessary dose changes.

Wish you fine recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
