What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Between Periods?

I ve been trying to get pregnant for two months now. Last month my period was 3 days late but still came for a full 5 days. Last week I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, but now I m bleeding and still have a week before my next period.. I m freaking out what can this mean??

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. Firstly, you did not have to do a pregnancy test since you had a normal natural period in the previous month. Moreover, home pregnancy tests read well 3-7 days after a missed period and not prior to an expected period. The cause of this menstrual aberration has to be detected through a proper clinical exam, hormone assay, sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route and also local causes. If pregnancy is excluded, further management can be planned according to the findings. Hope this helps.
