What Causes Vaginal Discharge With No Pain Or Itching?

My daughter who has just turned nine came to me today and said she has been having slime (discharge) in her underwear for the past 4 days. She said nothing hurts or itches. Is this normal for her age? Could it be the beginning of puberty?

Hi,

If there is no pain or itching, and the discharge is not foul smelling or blood stained, there is nothing to worry. This just indicates physiological discharge related to normal hormonal changes.
