What Causes Vaginal Spotting?

I WASNT DUE FOR MY NEXT PERIOD FOR 14 DAYS, ON THURSDAY I STARTED SPOTTING THEN GOT REALLY BAD PAINS IN MY PELVIC ARE, STOMACH, AND BACK, NOW THE SPOTTING HAS TURNED INTO WHAT I CONSIDER MY NORMAL PERIOD, EXCEPT I AM HAVING TO CHANGE MY PAD EVERY HOUR. I DO HAVE MY TUBES TIED AND I HAVE HAD AN EPTOPIC PREGNANCY BEFORE, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO?

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. In the current scenario, you should immediately report to your health care provider and get medication to control the bleeding. Once you are stabilized, probe should be done to detect the cause. Rupture of cysts on the ovary during ovulation or just before the onset of a period can result in pain associated with bleeding. Other causes include infections, polyps of the cervix and the endometrium, fibromyomas, coagulation defects and general infections. Styptics are useful to control the bleeding. You may also need a course or two of hormones to retrieve the cycle. Hope this helps.
