What Causes Vaginal Tissue Drainage During Menstrual Cycle While On Birth Control Pills?
Hello, Today I was slightly on my period, just light, then in the middle of the night I felt this unbearable pain and I thought it s cramps. But it was too painful, I felt like throwing up. When I went to the bathroom a huge chunk of what looked like skin fell out and I m worried. I have polycyclist ovaries and my doctor reciently just put me on birth control to help with the constant bleeding. It is very worrying, it was a huge chunk of skin.
The chunk of skin shed during menstrual cycle do indicate possible shedding of endometrial tissue and glands from the uterine epithelium most likely. New starting of oral contraceptives are many times associated with such bleeding per vagina, abdomen bloating, heaviness, vomiting as well.
As per my clinical experience, it takes a couple of month to get body accustomed to this new drug level and uterus will be back to normal within period of next menses. Just continue your currently prescribed drug guidelines as per your doctor office has documented in your case advise.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
