Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello..i had my appendix removed last may, 2011...after a few day, i felt like vomiting every time i smell something i don't like, but i were able to overcome it ,but presently, these past few weeks, i always felt like vomiting without any cause. please help...
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. The history of feeling like vomiting after smelling anything that you do not like after appendectomy indicates reflux mechanism. But now you are having nausea without an obvious reason as far as you know. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult your Family Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations of liver functions and others as per the clinical picture. May need an upper GI Endoscopy. You may be given a prescription of a PPI like Pantoprazole antiemetic like Domperidone or Metoclopramide and antacid. This may help you a lot. If not relieved it is better to get proper investigations and management as needed.
