Hi,

Side effect of the prescribed medication. Based on the history given I understood that you have been prescribed the uric acid lowering drug allopurinol consumption of which bothered you because of vomiting.

Stomach upset like vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea are important common side effects caused by allopurinol.

I would advise you to take anti-vomiting medication such as ondansetron or domperidone which can prevent vomiting and help control nausea.

Eat small and frequent meals, take plenty of oral fluids, avoid fatty, fried, spicy, and strong-smelling foods.

If vomiting does not subside you may consult your doctor for the possible reduction of the dose of allopurinol or to an effective alternative but a safer medication to reduce high uric acid.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
