What Causes Vomiting And Diarrhea In An Infant?

Hi, I have a 19 month old baby girl and shes been having trouble eating last two days. She was exclusively breast fed upto 6 months and after that I started her on home cooked food. She was having cow milk and other foods like the rest of the family (only less spicy) until she came down with some vomiting and loose motions last week. My doctor advised to give her whatever she feels like eating and not force her. She seems fine now but I am tired of breast feeding her during the day now. She was almost weaned off except for night feeds till last week s sickness. Is it ok for me to give her cerelac now?
