What Causes Vomiting And Fever In A Child After A Bug Bite?

My 3 yr old son was bitten by a copperhead 15 days ago and began running a fever and throwing up 4 days ago. He can t eat our drink anything without puking. I ve even tried pedialyte. This began exactly a week after he started a low grade temp and we were told he had strep. Is this normal after a bite or should I be worried?

Hi...this is not normal after a bug bite and usually in fever and symptoms like this after bug bites - typhus fever has to be suspected (Please do not confuse this with typhoid). It requires evaluation and antibiotic management. As the symptoms are usual I suggest you consult your pediatrician regarding this with this clinical tip.
