What Causes Vomiting, Headache And Fever In A Child After Swimming?

Hi. I have a 10 year old and 6 year old. School called today and both children are sick. My 6 year old has vomiting, stomach pains, and fever. My son has fever, headache, stomach pain, and a sore throat. My concern is that they both went swimming in a pond over the weekend. Could there be something from the water causing this sickness since they are both sick at the same time?

Hi....you are right. Both kids sick at same time and with commonality of pond swimming might be a reason. Both might be having a common viral illness. But your son has got sore throat, I suggest you consult your doctor for the rapid antigen test for streptococcal pharyngitis.
