What Causes Vomiting Of Blood?

My 21 year old son just informed me that he was throwing up blood today. It was bright red with "blood clots" in it.

He is on his way to his doctor right now. I am wondering what could be the cause for this?

Ok, now I would like to close this - he is at doctor now. I will hear answers from her. So, let me close the page - I didn't know there was a charge.....
