What Causes Vomiting While On Clarithromycin?

my son was diagnosed with Pneumonia last Friday. he has been taking Clarithromycin 500 mg twice a day. he doesn t feel like eating but when he does it makes him vomit , very little comes out. he has 3 pills left to get him through the 7 days. he says his chest hurts if he coughs alot continuosly for 5-6 times.

Yeah, it does that. This particular drug goes through the liver but it irritates the liver a bit in a way that triggers nausea/vomiting in about 10% of those prescribed it.
