What Causes Watery Bowel Movements And Rumbling Stomach?

yes, I have been diagnosed with IBS back in 2007. Well now, I do not necessarily have the pain but my stomach rumbles and I have 7 runny and watery bowel movements a day - for about 2 months straight… Could I be allergic to gluten or something more serious? YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome
Looking at your history this could be due to any following
exacerbation of IBS
Amoebiasis
malabsorption syndrome
HIV associated diarrhoea

please visit a gastroenterologist for clinical examination and stool test for ova cyst or protozoa
you may require a course of antibiotics like metronidazole and probiotics
have plenty of fluids including ORS and fresh fruits

if it doesn't subside with this then colonoscopy and biopsy of the intestine to see for mal absorption or inflammatory bowel disease

I hope you will find my response informative and helpful
wishing you good health
