What Causes Watery Stool While On Turmeric Root Extract?

I have been taking turmeric root extract for Rheumatoid Arthritis for about 6 weeks as an alternative to methotrexate after my liver function tests went high. I do have gall stones, though. I am experiencing griping pains, particularly in the mornings after I wake up, which results in passing watery, explosive poo. I have recently returned from a cruise, so concerned that I may have picked up something there. I also take medication for underactive thyroid, high blood pressure and cholesterol. Can you advise?

Hello,

Watery stools may be due to secondary infection or due to bowel irritation to the above drugs. Avoid spicy food and caffeinated drinks. Avoid oily food, take the soft diet. Use a probiotic tablet twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please get stool examination done and get treated accordingly.
