Hi, My 6 yr old son is having watery stools since 7 days, frequency 2 to 3 per day, he seems to be well hydrated, eating well, stoll routine shows 2-4 pus cells and undigested food +, his doctor gave him Bactrim, 3 doses given, still no improvement in consistency. What should i do?
If there no fever, stools are not blood stained and he is otherwise active, we need not worry and antibiotics are not usually indicated in such cases. It will settle in a couple of days. Cut down fruits, juices and sugars in diet.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
