What Causes Weakness And Numbness In Leg Muscles After A Sciatica Attack?
Hi I am 60 years old male and 5 weeks ago suffered a sciatic attack on my left side, pain down left leg on getting up from a chair. Seen doctor, put on Ibuprofen.Seen chairopractor twice. No pain but Numbness on the bottom of left foot & weakness in the leg muscles upon running.I used to play racquet sports ( Squash,Tennis Badminton) daily, but unable to do that because of weakness in the leg. Prognosis ?
Hi, In Sciatica there is pinched nerve pressure giving pain, weakness in legs. After physiotherapy due to release of pressure on nerves one feels better but due to irritation weakness and some pain during some active movement are there. Avoid more straneous exercise involving spines. Go for back extension exercise daily. Avoid weight lifting and more bending at back. Take B1, B6, B12 shots or capsules. Take calcium and multivitamin supplements. Ok and take care.
