I am 49 year old female and have had problems for 2 months now with stomach distention and daily weight gain. I can be 3" distended from morning to night and gain 8 to 10 lbs. from morning to night. I have been treated with antibiotic for bacteria overgrowth which was diagnosed from a breath test, and put on a low gas diet, with no relief. Other symptoms are fatique, spider veins, shortness of breath, lower back pain, and nausea at times. I also have irregular bowel movements, sometimes normal and sometimes diarrhea. I had a pituitary tumor back in 1978 and had my pituitary removed, so have been on hormone replacement prescriptions since then. I am only taking 20 mg of hydrocortisone daily. I had a CT with contrast and an xray, which showed no obstruction. Any suggestions as to what testing I should have or what my problem might be? My quality of life these last couple of months has not been very good!
