What Causes Weight Gain And Emphysema While On Depression Medication?

My niece, age 53, has bone on bone knees. Surgery was not possible until she lost weight. She has gained a lot of weight as a result of depression medication. She has developed emphysema, knows what needs to be done, but can’t get to a clinic. There are no available clinicians in KY that come to the home. Any suggestions? Did not know there was a fee involved. Cancel any requested consultation.

Hello,
There are both free and charge questions. You are on the free question part of the website. It would be best for her to contact the health department in your area and find out if they have any ideas of physicians that do home visits. If not they may be able to help her get home physical therapy and get her a wheelchair or other assistive devices so that she can get to a doctor. There also may be vans that can transport her to get to a doctor.
I hope she can get some help soon.
Regards
