What Causes Weight Gain, Dry/brittle Hair And Depression?
I believe I have Hypothyroidism. I cannot loose weight. I eat 1,200 calories a day and try to run 3-4 miles a day. I weigh about 164-168 pounds and I cannot loose weight- in fact I m gaining weight. My hair is dry and brittle, I m always exhausted, my fingernails have ridges in them, I m always cold, I am depressed, I m constantly confused or fuzzy brained .. the list can go on. I ve been to my doctor 6 times, and my bloodwork is in the normal range.. but NOTHING is helping. I go in AGAIN tomorrow to BEG to start some sort of SOMETHING to help me. Am I crazy? Why am I not getting better?
do your thyroid profile. as the symptoms you mentioned suggest hypothyroidism and take medicines if it is. thyronorm 1-1.5mcg per kg body wt you can start. and accordingly do thyroid profile monthly till your tsh brings normal than dose will be fixed and do repeat after 3 months for a year. and than annualy if it is under normal range
