Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Weight Gain, Sore Throat And Runny Nose?
I am a 41 year old female who has a history of stroke. My main ptoblem is that I have gained 30 over the past three ears. I have exercised and dieted religiously but surprisingly did not lose weight. I also have allergy symptoms such as soar throat, phlemn, runny nose.
Hi, i do care for your concern. For the sore throat 1) antibiotics such as macrolides along with antacid for three days would suffice. regarding weight gain 1) initially the diet should have caloric restriction, should be with reference range. 2) adequate work out time is required and avoidance of junk food and meals in between is a must. 3) since you suffered from stroke, it is advisable to check the growth hormone and prolactin levels checked, if only diet measures fail. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
