Hi, thanks for your query on Healthcare Magic,
I understand your concern.
There's a lot of side effects reported from taking Topamax. Common side effects of Topamax include anxiety, ataxia, confusion, diarrhea, diplopia, dizziness, drowsiness, dysphasia, fatigue, lack of concentration, memory impairment, nausea,
nervousness,
paresthesia, psychomotor disturbance, speech disturbance, depression, visual disturbance,
weight loss, dysgeusia, mood changes, and anorexia. Other side effects include:
arthralgia, and asthenia.
Topomax does not effect blood pressure or level of blood sugar directly. But, any circumstances that relate with higher/lower blood pressure and blood sugar level has to reported to your treating doctor.
And about Depakote, yes, this drug has the effect of increasing body weight. Depakote is used to treat
bipolar disorder and seizures, and prevent migraine. A result found that 44 percent of women and 24 percent of men rose 11 pounds or more when taking Depakote for about 1 year.
Depakote affect the proteins involved in appetite and metabolism, although it is unclear why it seems to affect women more than men.
Regularly check with your treating doctor to know if there's a serious side effects arise from taking those drugs.
Hope this helps
Take care.
