What Causes Weight Loss In The Baby?

My granddaugher is 2 weeks old and weighed 7.8 at birth and 21 1/2 long....The dr. told my daughter-in -law today he was concerned because when she is lying on her back she pulls her legs up like a frog and bends them under her. Is this something to be concerned about? She lost 10% of her birthweight and has been slow gaining it back due to mother s milk coming in slowly......please advise
