What Causes White Colored Vaginal Discharge With Bad Smell?
Hello doctors! It all started with a bright yellow discharge that had a foul odor. Almost a week later, I felt pain and called the nurse to see what it could be. They performed a urinalysis and it came back negative. The pain got worst for a few days. I could barely walk, sit, or do daily activites. I researched my symptoms and figured it to be a Bartholin's abscess. I took two to four baths a day. One day, the pain was so bad I did not want to get out of bed. I sat down to eat and felt as if I was wet. I went to the bathroom and checked..it drained on its own. Thank goodness! Although I still have a cyst, I would like to know if foul odor has to do with the cyst. Should there be any foul odor? I think the foul odor is abnormal.
Hi From your notes it appears that you have bartholin abscess which has burst open. The yellow discharge with foul odour is pus.
You need to see a gynecologist as the abscess needs to be opened up widely so that the pus can drain out completely. This is a minor procedure. The pus needs to be sent for culture sensiivity test and you need to take antibiotics and antiinflammatory medications (if you have pain).
