i have a white spot on the left side of my tongue that showed up today, is this something to be worried about? i have also had inflammed taste buds on my tongue and white tongue. i have recently been put on an estrogen patch for menopause and i m i just turned 40. have also had sinus issues-itchy eyes, full ears, clearin of throat , post nasal drainage
White spots on one side of tongue that developed recently are usually not of much clinical significance unless accompanied by other sign and symptoms or history of taking something very hot or spicy. Inflamed taste buds in past are indication that you may have multivitamin deficiency or colitis as primary cause and needs correction. Things that needs to be ruled out area: Fungal infection that is thrush. Cancer obviously. Dental causes. Bad oral hygiene and so on. The treatment is as under: Multivitamins, mineral and trace elements. Folic acid. Liquid diet. Dental correction if needed. Anti-fungal lotion if thrush. Check for blood sugar and any other disease or disorder that reduce the immunity.
