What Causes Worsening Of A Vaginal Abscess?

Hello I have a vaginal abscess and it has been around for about 7 weeks.. I saw my gyno who drained it and gave anti bio however it has not gone away and is uncomfortable and painful. He seems to think I will need surgery soon as it just keeps on coming back.. He is overseas at the moment so I am on amoxicillin and just taking vitamins.. Could magnesium or anything else feed the abscess and make it worse?
