What Causes Yellow Watery Stools With Foul Odour In A 1 Year Old?
Doctor,my daughter is 1 year old.she is passing yellow, watery, smelly stools for the past 4 days(about two times daily-once in the morning and again in the evening). Before this occurred she used to pass yellow , non watery stool once a day which was normal.but now she is not eating any thing and not passing urine as much as she used to. i gave "Prezolac"-pre and Prebiotic blended capsules as my doctor told me with youghurt. But she is still passing yellow ,watery and smelly stools.she has no appetite.what shall i do...pls help me.Thank You.
Don't worry. In my opinion it seems that your child is suffering from mild infection of gut or she is probably taking a lot of sugars in her diet leading to toddlers diarrhoea (not exactly even diarrhoea as the frequency is perfectly within normal range).
I would suggest, -maintain a good hydration with ORS, Buttermilk, lemonade or soups. -Keep a check on suger intakes and syrups. - continue probiotics - add antibiotic if fever or blood in stool
