What Causes Yellow Watery Vaginal Discharge And No Periods?

I had an induced misscarriagexariund three months ago. Not had my period since although they were always very irregular before. The last week I have been having yellow and watery discharge and having to change panty liners two or three times a day. Is this normal?

Hallow Dear,

Though your periods were irregular before the miscarriage, you should get your period after about 5-6 weeks after the miscarriage you had. If you have not got it for three months, I would advice you to induce it with Tab. Deviry for 5 days, 4-7 days after which you should get withdrawal bleeding. This will serve two purposes:

1. It will start your menses and thus, will rule out the pregnancy.

2. It will confirm that your pregnancy has been removed from the uterus successfully during the abortion procedure.

On the day 2 to day 5 of this withdrawal bleeding, please start oral birth control pills cyclically for 3 months which might help you regularise your menses. If still they do not get regularized, please report to your Gynaecologist.

And now the second problem of your white discharge from the vagina. Yellowish discharge does indicate some sort of bacterial infection. If it is foul smelling, it confirms the bacterial infection which will require a course of antibiotics. It will demand assertion of completion of the abortion. If abortion has not been completed (in which case, usually there would be continuous bleeding), you may have to get the uterus evacuated under an antibiotics umbrella. Ultrasonography will help diagnosing the completion of abortion.

Please do not ignore and report to the Gynaecologist ASAP.

I hope this helps you today.
