What Causes Yellowish Brown Stool After Taking Melatonin And Lamotrigine?

I take melatonin each night and lamotrigine (150 mg bid). I have noticed my stools are yellow-orange and not the usual brown color. I seem to have looser stools and periodic belly pain. Are the medications and the strange gi symptoms possibly related?

Melatonin can cause GI symptoms of loose stools and pain but I am worried about rectal haemorrhage associated with lamotrigine in some patients. This right have given the yellow-orange tinge to your stools. But I would suggest a confirmation through stool test fro occult blood and rectal examination.
If rectal haemorrhage is conformed, I would have changed Lamotrigine to alternative medications in my patient. Hope this helps. Thanks.
