What Causes Yellowish Vaginal Discharge In An Elderly Person?

I am 58 years old and just recently I started having yellow almost gold vaginal discharge. It happened about 3 or 4 days after I went into a pool. I got a med from doctor and inserted for 5 days and it did nothing. I went through menopause early. My periods stopped at 46. What could it be?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Yellow to gold vaginal discharge is suggesting vaginal infection.
As the 5 days intravaginal medication did not help, I advise to run further diagnostic tests:
- vaginal swab testing
- urine analysis
- complete blood count

You might need oral prescription meds.
Keep good genital hygiene. Vaginal douche can help.
