What Causing Passing Of Foul Smelling Yellow Diarrhea In Infants?
my 6 month old baby who was breastfed for the first 4 months and ate solid food at about 4-4.5 months and has currently been eating solid foods since. Then about 3 days ago started having yellow diarrhea that smelled of vinegar and has not hadd much urine in her diapers she is having the yellow vinegar diarrhea about 10 times a day for the past few days. She is acting like herself. Smiling. Giggiling. Just isn t sleeping as well. Seems to be somewhat dehydrated. But this is my first infant and I am going to call her doctor tomorrow just want to have some knowledge so I can help her and actually get some sleep.
Infants can respond to supplement food with diarrhea and vomiting initially as their digestive systems are only still getting used to solid food. It should not be a cause for concern, and your doctor may just advise you to introduce solid food in a few more days and gradually (e.g. alternate days, etc.). Speak to her doctor and you shall be reassured.
Best wishes.
