What Could Be A Recurring Dull Discomforting Pain In Left Shoulder Near The Blade?

I have been having a dull discomforting pain in my left shoulder near the blade . Feels like a gas and if I could burp it would be relieved . After I rub it a little it seems to get better but keeps reoccurring . After a while it leaves completely .

Pain can be referred to your shoulder blade from your upper abdomen. The fact that you feel like burping will relieve the pain leads me to think that the pain may be emanating from this area. Typically a pancreatitis, inflammation in the pancreas, will be referred to this area. The pain could of course be a muscular pain in that particular region. I would seek the attention of you Dr to have a thorough physical examination as this should help determine where the pain is coming from. Other tests could then be done if necessary such as blood work and an ultrasound scan.
