Hello,

Your symptoms strongly suggest an inflammatory or autoimmune arthritis (RA or OA). To control pain and discomfort naturally, you are advised to take anti-inflammatory diet. Include turmeric, ginger, leafy veggies, berries, nuts, seeds, olive oil. Avoid taking refined sugar, fried foods, excess gluten/dairy as it will trigger your symptoms.

Apply warm compress for stiffness, and cold packs to get rid of swelling. You are advised to walk daily, do light exercises, finger exercises, stretching, swimming to keep your joints mobile and flexible. Sedentary life without exercises will cause a lot of pain, swelling and stiffness.

You are advised to get clinically examined by a rheumatologist, get tests done for CBC, RF, Anti-CCP, CRP, ANA, uric acid, etc. You will be advised to get X-rays, ultrasounds, or MRIs of hands/wrists to detect joint damage, erosions, or swelling.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
