What Could Be Causing The Groin Pain And Leg Numbness?

My husband has passed out from groin pain. He feels numbness in his leg and said it feels like something is twisting in his groiin. He was rushed to emergency where the doctor performed a cat scan and blood work. Nothing was found to be abnormal. Our primary physician ordered xrays of the groin area. The results of the xray stated it may be femoratecetabular impingement. My husband went to an orthopaedic surgeon who took his own set of xrays and stated it is not femoratecetabular impingement. He does not know what it could be. I am now looking for another opinion. I am not sure what type of doctor he should see.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

His symptoms could be related to ileoinguinal or genito-femoral neuralgia. I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam. Blockage of the nerve may be needed. You should discuss with his doctor on the above issues.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
