What Could Be Done For A Red Lump Protruding From Urethra With Prickiness Which Resulted After Hysterectomy?

Have a red thing protruding from my urethra & feel pressure, especially at the end of the day, on vagina area. When I have this very uncomfortable feeling I do not know what to do with myself - feels very prickly. Laying down does help. Over 2 years ago I had a prolapse womb which resulted in a hysterectomy and at the time the surgeon said he would strengthen the walls around the bladder area. This conditiion has got worse over the last few months. I also have the feeling that I need to urinate more frequently. Would be grateful if you could please give me some advice. Thank you

The red thing protruding from your urethra could be a uretheral polyp. These are usually not a big deal and simply need to be removed. But you do need to see your doctor so he/she can remove it and figure out what it might be. He/she can also check the prolapse to find out if that is happening again. It is not uncommon for these problems to happen again in women that are at risk. When you see your doctor, ask him/her to discuss with you other options that might help prevent recurrence. They probably should refer you to a urogynecologist, who specializes in difficult cases of prolapse. I wish you the best of luck with this, I understand that it must be frustrating. But with the right intervention, you should find relief.
