What Could Be Done For The Hair Loss And Dryness In The Skin Over My Feet And Elbows Having A History Of Heart Failure And What Could Be The Reason For The Weight Gain?

Hi, I have recently lost 1/2 of my hair in just a few weeks. My scalp is burning /tingling towards the back of my head. My skin is also very dry on my feet and elbows, as well as my neck. In 2012 I had a heart attack leading to a stent and medications to treat another blockage. Then I gained 20 lbs , but I quit smoking due to the heart attack and was and still am a full time student.Over this summer I gained another 8 lbs. I had a serious skin condition labeled as Peridial dermititis which was not helped with ointments. I was finally given a pill: Doxy-cycl . This I suffered a terrible allergic reaction with blistered hands and fingers. While weaning off this in Aug.2013 my scalp became irritated and scabbed . I also suffer from chloestiatomia which left me with 7 ear surgeries, the last in 2006. The ear surgeries had a neurologists check an MRI every 2 years to monitor something deeper that was not a concern because it was stable. My last being 2009, when I left my job,(no insurance), to attend school full time. I mention all of this so you understand the many possible connections to my recent hair loss and again weight gain...I forgot to mention last spring and summer I also was hemorriaging. My current age is 43. Thank you.

Hello
As you mentioned that your scalp is burning and tingling with hairs loss.
Treatment for heart attack, 7 ear surgeries , dermatitis .
In my opinion these all diseases and medicines for these diseases are sufficient to develop hair loss and weight gain.
As you mentioned that you were also a patient of hemorrhage ( did not mention clearly whether hemorrhoids or hemorrhage ) .
1 As anemia may be the reason of hairs loss .
2 Dermatitis may be the reason of hairs loss .
3 Side effect of these drugs ( prescribed for various diseases )may be reason of weight gain or hairs loss.
At this point in this query it is very hard to evaluate any diagnosis .
So consult a physician /dermatologist and get their opinion.
Good luck.
