What Could Be Reason For Having Dehydration And Stiff Neck?
My mother is 49 yo. Had a kent bundle removed at 17 her pericardium is slightly inflamed bc of open heart surgery. She has had congestive heart failure at 32, after she had me. Now she is having flu like symptoms, but has kept an apatite. BP is 167/89 - 108/56 Pulse is 109-116 temp is running 97.5-100.5 resp. 24-20 a min. She seems slight dehydrated, and a stiff neck, what do you think this is? And should we take her in the ER

As you describe the present symptoms are all related to the flu only, once flu is to be cleared by its own, then if the findings are still continue, then you may confirm they are due to the heart problem.
Though flu is self limiting, due to possibility of super infection, if signs are there you can use medicines on the advise of your doctor.
Have light diet with out the fruits and juices, till the symptoms are cleared.
