What Could Be The Alternative Medicine For Vicodin Which Could Be Administered With Morphine?

my mother has recently been diagnosed w/bladder cancer,,,,they have her on a regimen of morphine w/vicodin for the pain,,,,this is making her itch badly,,,,is there a similar drug that can be used w/the morphine salts that won t make her itch as bad?

Hello, I am sorry that you are having such a hard time with pain management.
Sadly, one of the side effects of most Opioids is itching. This is due to a histamine release reaction, and based on your story is likely related to the morphine.

It is possible to take and anti-histamine medication (Benadryl) prior to taking the Morphine to help curb the symptoms.

Other options for pain control in abdominal cancer involve invasive treatments such as celiac ganglion blocks. If you are interested in treatments as this it would be best to meet with an interventional pain management.
