What Could Be The Cause Of Blood In Urine When Previously Had Passed White Urine?

Hi Doc, My mom is very nervous because today she went to the bathroom and saw a little bit of blood when she was peeing so what can that mean? Also she has been eating a lot lately potatoes and she said the other night that her urine was like white.

Thanks for your query.
The blood in urine in elderly patient can be due to
1) UTI.
2) Stones in urinary symptoms
3) Any mass lesion (Tumour ) in urinary system .

It needs through evaluation to find out the cause of bleeding by geting folowing investigations done under guidance of qualified Urologist.
1) Routine urine test and urine culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen
3) C.T scan of the Kideny ureter and bladder.
4) Endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy).

Please go ahead and get these tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
