What Could Be The Large, Red Mark On Nose Which Is Itching And Sore To Touch?
Hi, my mother aged 92 has developed a large red/purplish marks on the end of her nose which has increased in size over a couple of weeks and is a little sore to touch, it also seems to have grow on the tip of her nose slightly. Do you have any answers to this problem as my mother take for ever to go and seek advise from her doctor. Thankyou Jenny
Hello, Thanks for the query, She might be suffering from rosaceae. It is an inflammatory condition of face, Mainly affecting the nose and cheek area. The vessels get dilated and hence face become red. She needs treatment with topical anti inflammatory like metrogyl cream. Doxycycline is also helpful. A photograph would have helped me in giving a closer diagnosis. Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis. Let me know if you have any other doubt. you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link. http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-rahul-kumar/64818 Wishing you a good health.
